Purple Flat Shadow & P

Shadow flies |
|
Shadow flies or delta wings,
as I prefer to call them in Swedish, really have
it coming.
The flies have a very
appealing profile in the water during late
evening or nighttime fishing since the wing is
horizontally applied over the tube.
This type of fly works well by a slow streaming
water since the wing attracts the fish when you
let it beat back and forth in the stream.

The whole hackle is tied in by
one round and might be slightly cut on top to
let the wing fall into place above the tube. It
is important to use fox hair of superior quality
for this type of fly to really liven up the fly
when in the water and you fish.
