Head

Black deer hair head muddlerstyle with a few turns of lead wire to balance the fly correctly. Cut the head flat, wide and short at the rear end so that it does not catch too much water and makes the casting harder.

Comment

This is a simplified version of the Delta Warrior that primarily is created to be attached to the leader as it is in front of the regular fly.

Some muddler heads in your fly box might save the day and function together with all flies.

If you already have big flies you might, as an alternative, skip the wing and just tie the muddler head on a 9 mm long tube, but then prolong the head a bit so that it grips the hairy wing of the main fly.
