Boats in Vindelälven 2008

There are two rowing-boats for rent by fishermen in Vindelälven. One is to be found above Sjöforsen and is mainly reserved for them who wish the separate section. The other boat is situated downstream the old suspension bridge and is perfect for them who wish to fish the Other side.
Both boats cost 100 SEK per day to rent.

Fishing regulations for Ammarnäs FCA’s public license 2008

The bag limit is two fish of which at maximum one brown trout per day. Minimum lengths are 35 cm for grayling and 40 cm for brown trout.
Female brown trout should unconditionally be released!

Unconditional fishing prohibition during grayling’s spawning, 1/5-31/5.
Prohibition to fish for brown trout during the spawning period 15/9-15/10.This means that fishing directed towards brown trout is not allowed while grayling fishing is.

Please note that this license is not valid for Vindelälven from the 25th of August until the ending of the fishing on the 14th of September. See below for more information.

The lower limit of Sjöforsen to the upper limit of Järnforsen (Kraddsele) 2008

Between the 25th of August and the 14th of September the public license is not valid for Vindelälven. Instead the section is allocated by quotas to twelve (12) licenses per day that cost 150 SEK per day available only as licenses per day.
Children aged 15 and younger fish for free but will be part of the quota. Local residents and fishing right owners are excluded from the quota.
Eight (8) licenses may be booked in advance and the remaining four licenses are released for sale at the Fishing Center 24 hours before the start of the fishing (at 8 am the day before). These four (4) licenses must be bought on site and cannot be booked by phone. All booking and pick up of licenses is done at Ammarnäs Fishing Center.

Fishing hours 8 am – 2 am. Other hours the water rests unconditionally why grayling fishing during night hours is not allowed.

Boat rental, fishing regulations and fishing circulation just as during the rest of the season.

Sjöforsen 2008

A fly fishing only section of 400 metres, C&R for brown trout and grayling. Barbless hooks.
Prohibition to fish for brown trout from the 15th of September which means that fishing directed towards brown trout is not allowed.
Sundays are reserved to local residents and cannot be booked. Local residents may also fish other days during the week if there is room after 2 pm.

Fishing hours 8 am – 2 am.

Only one (1) day can be booked in advance, more days may then be obtained on site. The rowing-boat is included in the price but must be booked. The key to the boat is available at the Fishing Center. You find life vests by the boat.

The section is allocated by quotas to four persons per day or six persons in a party. Between 15/9 and 15/10 fishing directed towards brown trout is prohibited.

The mountain fishing map is for free and can be ordered from Länsstyrelsen by calling +46 90 108210. The booklet also contains updated fishing regulations for the waters in question.

It is worth to be noted for them who wish to fish for grayling that the upper part of Tjulån – for about a kilometre – is on this license.

Fishing for arctic char in Stortjulträsk means that you have to buy this license before you can trick it to bite your flies.
