The Fishing Center and the
diner at the Inn are a place for rendezvous and the obvious
spot for departure for all fishermen coming to Ammarnäs.
Buy your fishing license, flies or any complementary
addition needed.
Have a cup of coffee and talk some serious fishing with
fishing colleagues before setting off for today’s adventure.
On arriving in Ammarnäs one of our guides is always there to
provide updated information and tips on where to go fishing.
Besides fishing licenses we also administrate hunting
permits at the Fishing Center. |

The tenable fishing at Ammarnäs
The Fishing Center and the Fish
Conservation Association of Ammarnäs are actively aiming at
creating a tenable fishing. Together we all share a
responsibility towards up growing generations of fishermen
that they may enjoy the same quality of fishing as we do
today.
To us this means that:
-
chances of catching your trophy fish
should be good.
-
fish caught has a high average weight.
-
all fishermen obey current rules, as
minimum length, bag limit, prohibition to fish with
worms in all streams and fly fishing waters.
-
supervision of the fishing continually
occurs both within the fish conservation area and on
public waters.
-
areas surrounding our waters are not
polluted and that arranged halting places are kept in
good condition. Only your footprints should reveal where
you have been!
-
there is relevant information about
the fishing and experienced guides with knowledge of
local conditions.
To keep this level entrepreneurs in the
area have to meet with high standards. As do visiting
fishermen!
Welcome to an exciting fishing in
Ammarnäs! |

Guides
We have a number of experienced guides who
gladly will help you to really memorable experiences. It
always pays off to hire a guide when coming to unknown
waters.
The guide will show you where to find the fish and how to
reach it, keeping you from spending valuable vacation time
on looking for fish.

The Ammarnäs trout in Vindelälven
With an average weight of 3.7 kg in 2007
we can honestly state that we have among the best trout
fishing possible to offer today. Fishing for brown trout
knowing that you stand a good chance of setting a personal
record is a good feeling.
|
|
Mountain fishing
If you want to reach the bare mountains
and fish for really fine trout and char Ammarnäs is the
right choice. We offer you first-rate waters with even finer
fish within reasonable distance. Many waters can be visited
during the day, which means you do not have to bring a
complete hiking equipment to fish in the bare mountains.
Fish and hike in daytime, live comfortably and cosy in your
own cabin during the nights.

Fishing for grayling
Tjulån is classic grayling water
beautifully situated between the lake Stortjulträsk and
Ammarnäs. Vindelälven holds many big graylings and many
fishermen who fish for the Ammarnäs trout also spend some
time fishing for big graylings.

|
Adventure Fishing
Our Adventure Fisheries are almost to good
to be in Sweden. We offer a number of different Adventure
Fisheries in otherwise closed waters with superior fishing
and perfect service.
Go by helicopter or ride Icelandic horses to waters that
barely exist on the map.

The Canadian char
The lake Stortjulträsk holds Canadian char
weighing many kilos. We have yet not marketed the fishing
for Canadian char but since we have been getting more
inquiries the last years we will make an effort to provide
this high-quality and exciting fishing.
The Canadian chars rises close to the shore hunting smaller
fish. Then you may see them plough through the water. By
wading out in to the lake to a comfortable fishing distance
you can fish for them where they plough forward along the
shore. It is somewhat like fishing for Tarpon when you
present the fly in front of the fish when it arrives. If the
fish bite you have an exciting journey ahead of you since
the char may weigh up to ten kilos and is determined to
fight.
Occasional specimens are every year also caught in Tjulån
and Vindelälven. Most of the time it is smaller fish between
two and five kilos that take to our stream waters looking
for food.
Contrary to most other specimens we want all Canadian char
to be removed and put away. If you don’t want the fish the
Fishing Centre will gladly take care of it.

The Norrland
pikes
For them who so wish we arrange guided
tours to pike waters offering genuine wilderness combined
with pike fishing in both still and stream waters. |
|
Winter fishing
Everybody should experience the snowmobile
safari, deep into Sámi country, and fishing for the big
monstrous Arctic chars hiding under the ice.
We also offer fishing for burbot when the first ice covers
the waters in the autumn.
